Power Electrics' Annual Sustainability Report

Healthcare Facility Upgrade

As part of a major electrical upgrade at a healthcare facility in South Wales, Power Electrics supplied 2 x 2500kVA standby rated FG Wilson generators to provide backup power to the facility in the case of an emergency.

The Challenge:

The site at the healthcare facility presented some challenges due to a number of factors. Firstly, the layout and space available restricted a typical layout for 2 x 2500kVA generators with fuel storage tanks. Secondly, due to it being a busy site with members of the Trust needing access to surrounding buildings, delivery and commissioning on site required extra care and attention.

The Solution:

Power Electrics supplied 2 x FG Wilson P2250 diesel generators, housed within bespoke containers with an integrated fuel transfer and polishing system fed by a large common bulk tank. The bespoke containers ensured that the generators and fuel systems fit within the restricted space on site. Working closely with the main contractor and end user, deliveries and works were completed within off-peak hours, therefore minimising any disruption on site.

“We worked closely with the end user to ensure the active and busy site encountered minimal disruption during the installation. Our dedicated projects team worked with both the main contractor and customer’s estates team to gain access during off-peak times.”
