The Challenge

A major distribution and manufacturing hub in Chippenham required a fully managed temporary power solution. Power Electrics provided this solution while an HV supply was installed by the local DNO.

The Solution

Power Electrics utilised technical expertise to ensure that loss of power and subsequent manufacturing downtime, would not occur. The team also undertook the challenge of providing a Fuel Management solution, utilising an in-house fuel tanker fleet to increase resilience and efficiency. 

The threat of power loss was completely eliminated through the use of synchronous temporary generation. A total accumulative load of 5.25mVA synchronous power was provided, along with a fuel capacity of 50,000 litres.

Following a 37 week hire period, the HV supply was installed and commissioned, enabling production to continue with the newly installed power source. Every element of this extensive project was handled in-house by staff from a variety of Power Electrics departments, which guaranteed success.
